Uzbekistan's special service detain 38 members of terrorist organizations

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan's State Security Service officers detained 38 members of terrorist organizations in Surkhandarya and Jizak regions.
15 local citizens participated in Jihadists illegal extremist group that acted in Baysun district, local media reported.
Their leader became acquainted with extremist groups during his work in Russia. Members discussed possibility to join Jama'at al-Tawhid wal Jihad terrorist organization and sent money to Syria.
Similar case happened in Jizak region. The leader of the group was influenced by terrorists in Turkey. He found supporters via Odnoklassniki (Classmates) and Telegram social networks.
Members of virtual group were 23 young men from Jizak and Sharaf-Rashid district.
The investigation is ongoing.
