Financial police foil attempt of smuggling essential medicines from Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The State Service for Economic Crimes Combat (known as financial police) foiled the attempt to smuggle essential medicines from Kyrgyzstan. Financial police officers held a mini-bus driven by a national of Kazakhstan at Chaldovar border crossing checkpoint.
The boxes with 520 packs of Euphyllin and 460 packs of Levofloxacin were found inside the minibus hidden under boxes with apples. The driver did not present any supporting documents for drugs.
The minibus was impounded. The pre-trial investigation was launched.
Intravenous Euphyllin is used for acute exacerbation of symptoms and reversible airway obstruction in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
Levofloxacin is antibiotic used to treat a number of bacterial infections, including acute bacterial sinusitis, pneumonia.
