AKIPRESS.COM - Health Ministry of Kyrgyzstan is discussing the supply of 'Avifavir' antiviral drugs from Russia, said Health Ministry spokeswoman Ainura Akmatova on July 10. Akmatova noted that work to provide all existing additionally organized beds with all the necessary medicines and equipment is ongoing.
Social media discussed that antiviral drugs, such as Avifavir, were supplied to Kazakhstan from Russia.
"The Russian delegation led by Vice Chairman of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being) Vyacheslav Smolenskiy visited Kyrgyzstan last week. The issue on Avifavir drug was raised, it is being discussed. Our expert advisory groups, which include candidates of medical sciences, doctors, professors, also consider this issue. Health Ministry is discussing this issue with Russia," she said.
Avifavir became the first favipiravir-based drug in the world approved for the treatment of COVID-19.
