AKIPRESS.COM - People who remain in Urtasaray quarantine center in Urtachirchik district of Tashkent region rioted on July 8-9.
Videos shared on social media show people staying under forced quarantine trying to open iron gates and demand to let them go.
People from quarantine center told Kun.uz correspondent that they protested since some of them remain there for 30 days and are not allowed to leave it despite the end of quarantine.
One of men in the quarantine center said that around 270 people left it. Some of remaining people had to be isolated for more than 30 days, often without suitable living conditions for their little children. Doctors claim that they have not received latest results for COVID-19 tests.
People from Urtasaray noted that results for tests often come late for 5-7 days or don't come at all. 35 people from 23 block of the center contracted COVID-19 and were sent to the clinic of the Virology Institute in Tashkent.
Vice Minister of Health in Uzbekistan Ulugbek Sabirov said that the quarantine center Urtasaray keeps 4 people in one room. If one person has coronavirus, others have to stay isolated for longer. He noted that the riot occurred because of this procedure, as people thought they remained there longer than others.
COVID-19 cases in Uzbekistan grew for 472 and reached 11,564 on July 9. 6 lethal cases are recorded. The youngest person who died from coronavirus was 28 years old.
