Putin says Covid-19 fatality rate in Russia several times lower than in many other countries

AKIPRESS.COM - President Vladimir Putin at the meeting on strategic development and national projects today said coronavirus fatality rate in Russia is several times lower than in many other countries. "The situation is not bad with one of the main indicators of effectiveness of our work - fatality rate. In Russia fatality rate per 100,000 people is several times lower than in many other countries, including European countries with the developed health care system," Putin said.
Russia makes more than 300,000 tests for coronavirus a day. 170,377 hospital beds for patients with COVID-19 were arranged as of July 11, he said.
The daily number of new cases in the country remains stable, the number of recoveries is growing, he noted.
"The most subjects of Russia started easing lockdowns and other restrictions in connection with that," he added.
Russia recorded 11,439 fatalities from coronavirus, including 104 deaths for the last 24 hours.
