AKIPRESS.COM - Eight protesters were detained outside the Parliament building today in Bishkek and were taken to police station, the police department reported.
Organizers of the peaceful rally at Ala-Too sequare applied to Bishkek mayor's office and Bishkek City Police Department concerning a peaceful rally planned for July 13 from 11.00 am to 12.00 am. The organizers were informed the same day that sport, public and other mass events are not allowed temporarily over the COVID-19 situation. The organizers were suggested to postpone their rally until improvement of the epidemiological situation in the country. However, around 30 people gathered at around 11.20 am outside the Parliament building. They remained in different parts of the Ala-Too square.
The most active participants were taken to police station for a talk to prevent further violation of sanitary and epidemiological requirements, the police department said.
All eight protesters were natives of Bishkek. After a talk at the police station, they were released.
