AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov today met with prominent medical professionals, the president's press service reported.
The health professionals suggested uniting statistics on coronavirus infection and pneumonia. They underlined importance of preparation of healthcare organizations for the possible second wave of coronavirus infection. They suggested to repurpose clinics having intensive care units with oxygen therapy for COVID-19 patients and suggested construction of modular hospitals.
Another suggestion included establishment of the sorting points necessary for distribution of patients depending upon severity of their condition. Importance of introduction of the digital map of hospitals was underlined that will allow to track availability of hospital beds.
The health experts noted shortage of medical workers and suggested rehabilitation of medical workers working in COVID-19 red zones.
They also suggested that daytime in-patient facilities should stay open around the clock, since patients in serious condition are sometimes taken there.
Launch of additional hotlines was suggested, including the call center for medicines availability.
They criticized incorrect medical prescriptions, unreasonable use of antibiotics leading to shortage of medicines and creation of agio.
They added such widely used anticoagulant injections now as clexane and heparin may be replaced with anticoagulant tablets. In case the government approves these medicines, the load on hospitals will reduce, since people will be able to take them at home easily.
Experts also highlighted importance of following sanitary rules, prohibition of mass gatherings, control over mask wearing in public places, maintenance of social distancing.
The spike in infections is natural, they said, but added the actions should made to reduce fatality rate.
The President said modern hospitals will be built in Bishkek and reigon centers as public-private partnership projects. The talks with investors are underway, he said.
As for rehabilitation of medical workers, the President said rehabilitation of medical workers infected with COVID-19 at work in health resorts of Issyk-Kul region is considered now.
The President approved the suggestion to establish the national public health institute, which will play an important role in analysis and forecasting of the situation.
"Jeenbekov thanked the medical professionals for their useful insights for coronavirus fight and improvement of the country's health care system on the whole," the president's press service said.
