China and Uzbekistan to launch COVID-19 vaccine trials

AKIPRESS.COM - China and Uzbekistan will organize COVID-19 vaccine trials. The information camde from the meeting of Uzbekistan's Ambassador Bakhtiyor Saidov and head of Sinopharm Group company Liu Jingzheng, Dunyo reports.
Sides discussed cooperation in drug production in Uzbekistan during pandemic.
China National Biotec Group, subsidiary of Sinopharm Group, has already launched two phases of trials for inactivate and recombinant COVID-19 vaccines.
The term of validity for inactivate vaccine after injection is 2 years. More than 50,000 people got injections in China.
The second large plant in Beijing was constructed to produce 200 million vaccines per year. The first one was built in Wuhan.
Liu Jingzheng noted that the final phase of clinical trials started in China recently.
The trials which include 15,000 participants will also undergo in UAE.
Head of Sinopharm Group suggested to organize similar trials in Uzbekistan.
The Chinese company agreed to invest into pharmaceutical production in Uzbekistan.
Sinopharm Group company was founded in 1998. It has budget of more than $140 million to produce vaccines.
Sinopharm produces 91 drugs to treat coronavirus related diseases which have 94% positive effect.
The company has also developed own tests for COVID-19 which are used in China and other countries.
