AKIPRESS.COM - More than 20 Mongolian people have tested positive for COVID-19 after they had recovered and were discharged from hospital, authorities there said on Tuesday, Xinhua news agency reports.
The figure was announced by the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD), which said there's no need for alarm.
"At least 23 out of 213 COVID-19 patients who had recovered and been discharged from the NCCD have tested positive again for the virus," Amarjargal Ambaselmaa, head of the NCCD's surveillance department, said at a daily press conference.
"However, our citizens have nothing to fear," added Ambaselmaa.
23 people retested positive when they were in 14 days of further observation at special facilities.
Meanwhile, Mongolia announced zero new COVID-19 cases after conducting 520 tests in the last 24 hours.
The country has reported zero COVID-19 deaths and a total of 287 infections, all of which are imported cases.
