AKIPRESS.COM - Three people were injured, one of them is in serious condition, as a result of a fight between villagers in Shornak near Kentau city in Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, regional health department reported on July 23.
The police are conducting investigation. Four people were detained on suspicion of "hooliganism".
According to the police department of Turkestan region, the man and his fellow villagers had a "scuffle that grew into hooliganism" in Shornak.
It was reported that later the unknown drove up to the victim's house and began to throw stones at his house and houses in the neighborhood.
Three people were injured as a result. The local policeman who arrived at the crime scene was also injured, the police said in a statement.
According to social media reports, there was a fight between Kazakhs and Uzbeks.
Shornak, a village with a population of over 11,000, is predominantly populated by Kazakhs and ethnic Uzbeks. The police deny that the conflict was ethnic.
A video posted in social media depicts a man in a police uniform with traces of blood on his shirt and face. People who stand next to him condemn those who threw stones.
The police department said in a statement that the district police officer didn't allow the villagers to use guns.
According to the health department of Turkestan region, three residents of Shornak village were taken to the traumatology department of the Turkestan city central hospital on July 21.
