AKIPRESS.COM - The main causes of infant mortality are conditions arising in the perinatal period, where 668 children died in Jan-May 2020 or 73% of the total number of deaths among children under one year of age, the National Statistics ?ommittee reports.
During this period, 154 children (17%) died of congenital malformations, 61 children (7%) died of respiratory diseases.
10 died for some infectious and parasitic diseases, 6 for diseases of the nervous system, 10 for external causes of death.
