AKIPRESS.COM - About 500,000 Uzbek migrants could not return to work in other countries due to quarantine restrictions, Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations press secretary Rahimzhon Mahkamov told a press briefing on July 27.
76,200 migrants who could not return to other countries started working in Uzbekistan.
68,700 people are involved in public works. More than $2.1 million were allocated from the public works fund for salaries of such workers.
219,657 migrants returned home in January-June 2020.
122,805 people returned from Russia, 63,636 returned from Kazakhstan, 7,144 from Turkey, 3,376 from South Korea, 22,697 from other countries.
201,400 people who arrived from abroad passed interviews. 100,600 (50%) got jobs in Uzbekistan.
