Tajikistan exports almost 500 tons of flour to Afghanistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Flour mills of Tajikistan are able to meet the domestic demand for flour, Minister of Industry and Latest Technologies Zarobiddin Faizullozoda said.
The capacity of domestic flour mills allows to produce flour for domestic needs and partially for export, he said.
374,900 tons of flour were produced in the first half of this year, which is for 43,100 tons more than in January-June 2019. 466 tons of flour were exported to Afghanistan. Grain for flour production is imported from Russia and Kazakhstan.
Last year Tajikistan produced 710,000 tons of flour, a part of which was exported to Afghanistan.
In the first half of this year, Tajikistan also imported 47,500 tons of flour, which is for 22,600 tons more than in the previous year.
498,000 tons of wheat were imported, which is for 49,100 tons more than in 2019, Avesta reported.
