AKIPRESS.COM - Pay supplements were increased for medical workers on COVID-19 frontlines since July. Those who were paid 47,000 soms will get 72,000 soms now, Deputy Prime Minister Aida Ismailova said during the online briefing today.
"The total number of medical workers who caught coronavirus infection reached 2,691 as of yesterday. The Ministry of Health is developing and introducing a range of measures for support and rehabilitation of medical personnel. The guaranteed salaries are paid in full. Finances are transfered to healthcare organizations in full for payment of guaranteed salaries to medical workes in time," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Despite many medical workers began working remotely, these are workers in the risk group: over 65 years old, those having young children, pregnant workers, they should receive salaries. In addition to the guaranteed salaries, the government pays supplements to medical workers treating coronavirus patients, she added.
"Until now, medical professionals working in hospitals, ambulance service were paid 47,100 soms. Since July, the incentives were increased and those who received 47,100 soms will be paid 72,000 soms now. Payments were also increased for middle-level and junior medical personnel. Doctors working in morgues will be paid more than 78,000 soms," the Deputy PM said.
Those medical workers who contracted coronavirus infection will have rehabilitation in a health resort at Lake Issyk-Kul. The resort was already selected, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
