Delay of population census proposed in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan has proposed to delay population census, Tengrinews.kz reported. Census entails contacts between recruited personnel and people during household visits. To exclude risks related to spread of coronavirus infection, the Ministry of National Economy has suggested to delay the census until next year, Minister Dalenov told a briefing.
The population census was planned from October 1 to 30, 2020.
"The main concerns are health and well-being of census stakeholders, both census workers and population. This is why the Ministry has made such suggestion. The decision is pending," the Minister said.
