Kazakhstan hopes to start clinical trial of vaccine for Covid-19 in September

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan may start clinical trial of vaccine candidate for coronavirus infection in humans in September.
Preclinical trial of vaccine candidate is ongoing now, Biological Security Research Institute Director General Dr Kunsulu Zacharya said.
The vaccine candidate is tested on laboratory animals now: rats, mices, guinea pigs, rabits to study all dimensions required by WHO and the national pharmaceutical standards, she said.
The vcaccine candidate is also tried on rhesus monkeys. "Our vaccine is tested by the Medicines Examination Center now, that is the reproduction of declared results is checked. We plan to start clinical trial in humans around early September," Dr Kunsulu Zacharya stated.
If everything goes as planned, the vaccine may be registered by the end of this year, she added.
