Presidents of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan hold talks about epidemiological situation

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held phone talks with President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, president's press service reported.
Sides discussed bilateral cooperation, interaction in economic, energy and transport and communication spheres. They exchanged views on the most important aspects of the regional agenda.
The leaders expressed their full support for measures against coronavirus spread taken in both countries.
They also emphasized importance of minimizing the negative consequences of the pandemic and maintaining the trade development and economic relations between the countries.
Sides discussed modern trade and logistics infrastructure in the border areas, implementation of large projects for the construction of the Surkhan-Puli Khumri power line and effective transport corridors in Afghanistan.
Uzbekistan and Afghanistan considered the issues of a peaceful settlement of the Afghan problem and expressed full support for launch of inter-Afghan negotiations.
