AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan allocates more than $196.5 million from state budget to support low-income families and pensioners.
The President of Uzbekistan signed a decree "On additional measures to provide support to the population in need of assistance and social protection during the coronavirus pandemic" on July 30.
It was reported on August 4 that Uzbekistan will spend $196.5 million to support 1.7 million low-income people, 3.7 million elderly people and 500,000 recipients of social benefits in accordance with decree.
According to local media, families in need received financial assistance of $14.5 million in previous 5 days.
The government will pay $76.6 million to 1.7 million people, as well as more than 50,000 medical workers, in August.
Authorities will have to control the proper distribution of funds and take measures to prevent violations of the law.
