AKIPRESS.COM - There are more than 13,500 medical workers in Kyrgyzstan, but this may not be enough in case of the second wave of coronavirus, Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov said.
The central government and local administrations are preparing now for the upcoming cold season, when the surge in respiratory viral infections, flu and Covid-19 is expected. Shortage of medical personnel in the regions of the country becomes a critical issue, he said.
"It is important to create a reserve of medical personnel, to provide short-term in-service training for medics. Regardless of form of ownership, all medical facilities will serve people," the Prime Minister said.
