Emergency Ministry studies condition of high mountain lakes

AKIPRESS.COM - The working groups of specialists of the Monitoring Department, Hydrometeorology Agency, region departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Rescue Training Center, local civil defense committees are studying condition of high mountain lakes.
The working groups studied condition of 5 such lakes in Chui region, 2 in Issyk-Kul region, 11 in Talas region, 6 in Naryn region.
The high mountain lakes in Osh, Batken and Jalal-Abad regions are still studied.
As of August 7, the condition of all lakes is stable. The lakes are slowly filled with water. Some lakes still remain under ice cover.
A slow ablation of glaciers and snow cover is observed this year.
The additional reports will be prepared for follow-up actions based on the findings of the lake monitoring.
