China and Mongolia hold 5th strategic dialogue between Foreign Ministries

AKIPRESS.COM - Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui and Munkhjin Batsumber, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, held the fifth Strategic Dialogue between the Chinese and the Mongolian Foreign Ministries via videolink on August 5, exchanging views on China-Mongolia relations and international and regional issues of common interest. Luo Zhaohui said, China-Mongolia relations have developed rapidly in recent years. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, both sides have helped and supported each other, and achieved positive results in the fight against the disease. Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga has visited China in February and announced that Mongolia will donate 30,000 sheep to China, eliciting a positive response in our two countries. Following Mongolia's parliamentary elections and establishment of the new administration, leaders of both countries have intensified interactions in a timely manner. State Councilor Wang Yi has spoken on the phone with Mongolia's new Foreign Minister Nyamtseren Enkhtaivan at the earliest time possible, reaching important consensuses on pushing China-Mongolia relations to new highs.
Luo Zhaohui said, both side should focus on the post-epidemic era, strengthen political and diplomatic exchanges, deepen anti-epidemic cooperation, promote the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and bilateral trade, give each other firm support on issues concerning core interests and major concerns, and enhance coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs.
Munkhjin Batsumber spoke highly of the Chinese side's achievements in combating the COVID-19 and economic recovery, and said, the new Mongolian administration will continue to regard developing its relations with China as the top priority in its foreign policies. The Mongolian side will stay committed to the One China policy as always. Thanking the Chinese side for the strong support in fighting the epidemic, the Mongolian side expressed the willingness to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various areas such as political affairs, economy, trade, and people-to-people and cultural engagement, and reinforce coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs with the Chinese side, so as to jointly propel Mongolia-China comprehensive strategic partnership for new progress, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
