AKIPRESS.COM - Not all lethal cases were linked to COVID-19 and pneumonia during the coronavirus pandemic, Deputy Health Minister Madamin Karataev told a press briefing today.
The Ministry of Health has studied the lethal cases for the past 5 years and found 62% of lethal cases accounted for cardiovascular diseases.
This trend remains unchanged, Karataev added.
"266.1 per 100,000 die from cadiovascular diseases, 64.1 from cancer, 39.2 from injuries and poisoning, 39 from circulatory diseases, 28 from respiratory diseases," Karataev said, citing the statistics for the past 5 years.
The situation has remained the same since outbreak of coronavirus:
251.5 per 100,000 died of cardiovascular diseases, 58.8 from cancer and other pathologies.
Around 29% of those who had pneumonia and COVID-19 died from causes other than pneumonia and COVID-19, Karataev said.
