Shelter structures of 2 Buddhist Temples repaired in Kyrgyzstan with UNESCO support

AKIPRESS.COM - The repair of the shelter structure covering two Buddhist Temples at Krasnaya Rechka ancient settlement, 40-50 km east of Bishkek, was carried out this year for $23,000 under UNESCO project, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Jamankulov said.
The ruined parts of the Temples were conserved, the Minister said.
With the purpose of preservation of historical and cultural heritage sites, the Ministry of Culture endorsed the order on protection zones of the monuments, cultural sites of Talas, Isfana and Kerben, Erkin and Dyikan sites, tombs in Kulan area.
The second phase of UNESCO project is planned, which will include fencing and creation of infrastructure around this territory.
152 archaeological researches were carried out to discover cultural heritage objects. 76 acts were issued for construction and improvement works on the territory of protected zones of historical and cultural monuments of Bishkek and Osh, the Minister of Culture said.
