AKIPRESS.COM - The protocol between the Youth and Sport Directorate and Traditional Sport Federation on organizational aspects of the Fourth World Nomad Games planned in 2021 in Turkey was signed on August 12 in Iznik, the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The event was attended by Minister of Sport and Youth Mehmet Kasapoglu, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Cam, World Ethnosport Confederation President Bilal Erdogan, Bursa province governor Yakup Canbolat, Bursa mayor Alinur Aktas attended the event.
The Turkish side underlined an important role of the Kyrgyz Republic, founder of the Nomad Games and its contribution in their world recognition. Successful organization of the Third World Nomad Games at Lake Issyk-Kul in 2018 was noted.
"The Turkish side promised the traditions laid by Kyrgyzstan in holding the World Nomad Games will be kept in their best form. This is proved by symbolic venue chosen for the Nomad Games: Iznik town has the memorial for Kyrgyz warriors died in battles for capture of the town in the 13th century. Besides, the Games will be held at the shore of Iznik Lake like initially made by Kyrgyzstan," the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan said.
The Fourth World Nomad Games were supposed to be held this year in Turkey, but were postponed until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
