Social Development Ministry buys 2,000 regular and 507 multifunctional wheelchairs

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan has received 2,000 regular and 507 multifunctional wheelchairs, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Aliza Soltonbekova told AKIpress.
1,000 wheelchairs for adults and 1,000 wheelchairs for children were purchased through tenders and distributed among district and city social development departments, she said.
Children with palsy under 18 years were provided with multifunctional wheelchairs.
The regulations did not allow purchase of multifunctional wheelchairs before. They were purchased after changes were incorporated into the government resolution.
All wheelchairs are distributed free of charge via social development departments, Deputy Minister Soltonbekova said.
