Uzbekistan to vaccinate population against flu and pneumonia in September

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan is planning to start vaccination against flu and pneumonia in September, epidemiologist Rustam Ikramov told local media. The growth of airborne diseases occurs in autumn and winter every year, Ikramov noted.
"Doctors call this mixed infection. Several infectious agents can trigger the disease. Viruses that are triggered by flu and pneumonia can worsen patient's state along with coronavirus," he said.
He added that the government is undertaking measures for vaccination. Vaccines are likely to be purchased and local vaccination points will be set up. The work will will begin in September.
Ministry of Health has not confirmed that the vaccination will be free of charge.
