Uzbekistan spends around $4.8 billion for COVID-19 response in 4 months

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 49.3 trillion soums ($4.8 billion) were spent from March to June for fight against coronavirus and addressing its economic effects, Finance Minister Timur Ishmetov said at the session of the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan.
Some 5.3 trillion soums (more than $516 million) were allocated from the Anti-Crisis Fund for COVID-19 fight.
Tax and customs privileges for businesses and enteprises made 1.6 trillion soums ($155 million).
Some 15.7 trillion soums were allocated by commercial banks to support business. Loans for $2.3 billion were provided.
In the first quater of 2020, the public budget revenues stood at 58.2 trillion soums ($5.6 billion). This is for 7.5 trillion soums ($730 million) more than in the same period of 2019.
