First-graders in Kyrgyzstan to attend schools in groups

AKIPRESS.COM - Around 19,000 first-graders will go to school in the 2020-2021 academic year, Bishkek vice mayor Victoria Mozgacheva told a briefing on August 28. 17,000 children registered online.
Grades, which have more than 20 students, will be divided into groups in regions with difficult epidemiological situation and large number of students.
"The schools in Bishkek are overcrowded 200-250%, so the first grades will be divided into 2 groups. They will study basic courses 5 days per week. Other courses will be online," Mozgacheva said.
She noted that schools will have to disinfect classes and public toilets, provide thermal cameras, antiseptics.
The first-graders will go to school since September 1. They will have a lesson about Kyrgyzstan and a tour around their schools.
