Kyrgyzstan ready for transparent parliamentary elections - Jeenbekov

AKIPRESS.COM - "We are ready for transparent parliamentary elections," President Sooronbai Jeenbekov said at the meeting of the Security Council today.
Some parties allegedly change polling stations for citizens to increase their electorate, according to speculations by public, the President said.
"Government agencies should promptly respond to reports about violations of electoral legislation. If this information is confirmed, those guilty should be held accountable. Election commissions should work to ensure transparency of electoral process," President Jeenbekov said.
The President said the preparatory work for elections was carried out on a proper level. The President noted readiness of the regulatory framework, election commissions for open and democratic parliamentary elections.
Central Election Commission Chair Nurjan Shaildabekova and Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov provided updates on preparedness for elections.
Interior Minister Kashkar Junushaliev reported on actions undertaken to protect public safety before and prior to the elections.
Several decisions were made at the meeting of the Security Council.
