Security Council to consider causes of July spike in COVID-19 cases and deaths in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The secretariat of the Security Council is carrying out investigation and analysis of circumstances and causes leading to spike in coronavirus cases in Kyrgyzstan, surge in lethal cases and unpreparedness of government agencies, healthcare organizations among them, to provide healthcare services to population, the president's press service reported. The findings of the analysis will be considered at the meeting of the Security Council for follow-up actions and additional recommendations to prevent recurrence of the similar deterioration of epidemiological situation in the country.
Financial police is also investigating negligence of some officials of the nation-wide operative team for coronavirus containment and the Ministry of Health; lobbying of interests of pharmaceutical companies and signing knowingly unbeneficial contacts for the state; public procurements causing a large-scale damage for the state.
The secretariat of the Security Council has asked all relevant stakeholders, citizens, experts, NGOs to report any relevant information and suggestions for investigation and analysis.
