Russian foreign ministry sends note to Turkmenistan after closure of Russian-taught classes

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan requesting clarification of situation with closure of Russian classes at schools of Ashgabat, TASS news agency reported on September 15.
Classes taught in Russian were reportedly closed at a number of schools in Ashgabat before new academic year in order to observe sanitary standards.
Moscow says they the Russian embassy has not received yet a response to its request for clarification.
Russia expressed hope that Turkmenistan will not allow the reduction of education in Russian language in the country.
