AKIPRESS.COM - Uncompromising struggle against corruption will be continued, President Sooronbai Jeenbekov said at the today's meeting of Security Council. "Fight against corruption is under a special control. We held three meetings of the Security Council on this problem. In January, we heard the information of heads of line government agencies on implementation of decisions made by the Security Council. The fight against corruption is spread out to all levels of governance," the President said.
Jeenbekov stressed some heads of executive agencies were punished for improper implementation of anti-corruption measures recommended by the Security Council.
"Some were dismissed. Several high-ranking officials were held accountable, including those who were handed harsh criminal sentences. Many corrupt schemes were uncovered, operation of corrupt crime groups in public procurements, courts, law enforcement and licensing agencies, public property authorities were foiled," the president's press service cited President Jeenbekov as saying.
Some 5.827 billion soms were compensated from 13.6 billion soms damage caused for the state by corruption since 2018, the President said.
"We need to step up work in recovery of damage caused by corruption for the state," Jeenbekov said.
None of those who abuses power for personal enrichment will be spared, the President warned, adding this is demand of general public and implementation of all decisions of the Security Council is under his personal control.
