AKIPRESS.COM - Five men injured in the brawl in Aravan village during a campaigning event were transferred from a local hospital to Osh interregional hospital, local hospital chief Usmanzhan Mamazhanov said.
The transfer is explained with safety considerations. These are citizens supporting one of political parties, he said.
"9 citizens were taken to the hospital after the incident. Five of them were transferred to hospital in Osh yesterday. Their condition is satisfactory. Patients decide themselves where to receive treatment. 4 are treated in our trauma unit now," the hospital chief said.
The building of the local hospital in Aravan is guarded by police officers.
Osh region police department's spokesperson Jenish Ashirbaev said this morning the police forces are on heightened alert. 30 police officers were deployed to the district to protect public order. The situation was described as stable.
President Sooronbai Jeenbekov during the virtual meeting wiht Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov on September 21 said such incidents should be prevented by law enforcers and they should not reoccur in future.
The police received a report in the evening of September 20 about brawl in Aravan village. Around 100 villagers gathered at a campaigning event of one of candidates of the political party running in the parliamentary elections. The heated verbal exchange turned into brawl.
11 were taken to the hospital in Aravan district and one was taken to the hospital in Osh. 5 vehicles were damaged.
10 participants of the conflict were detained. The rest 12 staying in hospitals will be questioned soon.
