Almost half of schools reopen in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - The number of reopened schools in Uzbekistan as of September 21 reached 4,379. This is 43.9% of all schools in the country, according to the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan.
2.1 million students (34%) study in these schools. 1.5 million of them (72%) study traditionally, the rest 595,000 students (28%) study online.
Local councils decide on restart of traditional classes in each particular school.
The new academic year started in Uzbekistan on September 14.
The Ministry of Education announced then 2,635 schools from 10,000 reopened.
