Protesters at Ala-Too square urge Kyrgyzstanis to vote against all on parliamentary election day

AKIPRESS.COM - Around 15 people gathered at Ala-Too square today in Bishkek, who urge citizens of Kyrgyzstan to vote against all parties in the upcoming parliamentary elections set for October 4.
They also urge citizens not to sell the votes and protest against massive use of the form 2, allowing citizens to vote at polling stations they wish and not based on the place of their registered domicile.
The action is organized by civil activists, including human rights defender Toktaim Umtalieva, leader of Greens Party Erkin Bulekbaev.
The protesters chose not to respect the ruling of the Pervomaiskiy district court, which prohibited holding actions at the central square.
Police officers told the protesters the court did not allow holding the action at the square. They suggested protesters to continue their action in Gorky Park.
Greens Party leader Erkin Bulekbaev agreed, but Toktaim Umetalieva said she will not leave, since she is organizer of the action and that she has not received any notification about prohibition of the action at the square. "Hence, I will continue my action here," she told police officers.
Representatives of the Greens Party left the square.
