AKIPRESS.COM - In case the epidemiological situation keeps worsening in Uzbekistan, the authorities will have to reintroduce quarantine restrictions, chief sanitary inspector Nurmat Atabekov said.
"I think we will not have such strict quarantine as 2 months ago. But we register more than 600 new cases daily. This is explained with neglect of COVID-19 precautionary measures by population. If we keep deteriorating epidemiological situation, the government may re-introduce several restrictions, including such strict quarantine as it was done twice already," Nurmat Atabekov said.
The chief sanitary inspector reminded about importance of wearing masks, maintaining social distance in public places, frequent disinfection and handwashing.
Uzbekistan has so far confirmed 53,996 coronavirus cases. 50,441 people recovered, 447 died.
