WHO Director General pledges continued assistance to Kyrgyzstan for COVID-19 response

AKIPRESS.COM - The World Health Organization is ready to continue all possible assistance to Kyrgyzstan for COVID-19 response, WHO Director General Tedros Ghebreyesus said at the meeting with Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to UN in Geneva Daniyar Mukashev on September 30, the Foreign Ministry said.
Ambassador Mukashev thanked the WHO Director General for support provided to Kyrgyzstan for COVID-19 fight. The issues of cooperation amid ongoing coronavirus pandemic were considered then, including cooperation in vaccination against coronavirus infection and other diseases.
Ambassador Mukashev underlined the key role of WHO in pandemic response and expressed hope for effective multilateral partnership.
The WHO Director General reportedly thanked Kyrgyzstan for a close cooperation in fight against COVID-19 and expressed firm support to the efforts of the government and underlined readiness of WHO to continue its assistance to Kyrgyzstan.
