AKIPRESS.COM - "These were open and democratic elections, which are example for all our Turkic speaking countries," member of the Election Observation Mission of Turkic Parliamentary Assembly (TurkPA) Ismet Ucman told a briefing in Bishkek about the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan. He expressed hope the elections would bring good results.
"Despite Kyrgyzstan is the youngest democratic state, we as observers can say that Kyrgyzstan has surpassed 200-300-year old democracies," he said.
He congratulated the parties that met election threshold and may be considered elected into Parliament.
"From perspective democracy, it is a very big resolute step. Kyrgyzstan ensured respect of all international rights," he stated.
All conditions were created for all candidates. Actions were undertaken to prevent vote buying and corruption. Citizens very seriously treated the elections, Ismet Ucman said.
