AKIPRESS.COM - As of 08:00 on October 7, a total of 218 people were hospitalized in Bishkek after disorders. 768 people were injured in total, according to the Ministry of Health.
550 of them received medical aid and were sent for outpatient treatment, while 218 people were hospitalized with different injuries.
7 patients are in intensive care, 1 of them (a 19-year-old boy) died.
On October 5, thousands of protesters took to central square in Bishkek to protest against the results of parliamentary elections. In the evening of that day, clashes occurred between riot police and protesters. About 600 were injured and 1 civilian died of injuries, according to the Ministry of Health.
By the night, a group of unknown people stormed the White House. Jailed politicians, including ex-President Almazbek Atambayev and ex-Prime Minister Sapar Isakov, were freed.
On October 6, the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan invalidated parliamentary election results. Prime Minister and Speaker of Parliament resigned, new interim ones were elected. President Sooronbai Jeenbekov called events an illegal power grab and called the opposition to join for a dialogue.
