Parliament only legitimate body, its mission was to make decisions promptly - MP

AKIPRESS.COM - "We should work, participate, secure quorum until election of a new Parliament," MP Mahabat Mavlianova told AKIpress.
The Parliament will work a month or so, since there are lots of laws that need to be ratified. Many issues need consideration, she said.
When asked whether yesterday's extraordinary session of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan was legitimate, she said the Parliament is the only legitimate body now. "I saw 62 signatures yesterday. Those who were sick and could not come agreed for proxy voting. Some of them were ill," she said.
"The situation was tough yesterday with lots of people around, outraged people. Our mission and responsibility was to secure quorum and make decisions that were made yesterday," she added.
"The quorum was secured. You saw the crowd there yesterday and we needed to make decisions. We waited from morning until evening. Somone arrived from Osh, regions, trying to secure quorum. As soon as Sadyr Japarov was approved, he came out and calmed down protesters slightly. I thing we managed to calm down people somehow," she suggested.
