First vice mayor of Bishkek performs mayoral duties

AKIPRESS.COM - First vice mayor Almaz Baketaev has been appointed acting mayor of Bishkek, the mayor's press office reported.
Almaz Baketaev held the meeting with his deputies, chief of staff and representatives of Bishkek district administrations to discuss the algorithm of actions to support essential services and life of the city.
All municipal companies and emergency services work normally, all planned works are carried out according to the schedule, Baketaev said.
The municipal authorities are preparing for start of heating season. Hot water and heating are provided by Bishkek heating network Bishkekteploset, subsidiary of the National Energy Holding, and the Bishkek heat distribution municipal company. They are ready to start providing heating any time.
According to established norms, heating supply starts when the average air temperature remains at 8 degrees above zero 5 days in a row.
The acting mayor denied the reports that the mayor's office is under management of some groups, coordination council and self-proclaimed mayor. "Everything should be within the legal framework, in line with the effective legislation of Kyrgyzstan," the press service acting mayor as saying.
