AKIPRESS.COM - The UN is ready to provide a platform for dialogue between the President, parliament, and political forces if needed, said UN Resident Coordinator Ozonnia Ojielo during the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov on October 7, the foreign ministry said.
The UN has expressed its concern about the current situation in the Kyrgyz Republic. Organization's stand regarding the situation is clearly reflected in the statement of UN Secretary General António Guterres of October 6. The UN Resident Coordinator said that the Organization remains completely in solidarity with the Kyrgyz Republic.
Ojielo expressed his concern about the situation and drew attention to the attacks on property of foreign investors by the unknown. He said the soonest restoring of law and order through a political dialogue between the political forces is important for the country.
Aidarbekov thanked the UN for the support to the Kyrgyz Republic. He noted that efforts of all political forces in the country are aimed at restoring law and order.
The Minister added that the way out of this situation will allow the government to focus on a number of issues, including the COVID-19 response, holding new elections to the parliament and ensuring social and economic development of the country.
