AKIPRESS.COM - The socio-political situation is stable in the country, but yet there are reasons for concerns, acting Interior Minister Kursan Asanov told the press conference today in Bishkek.
He said the peaceful rally was held in protest against voting results after the parliamentary elections. 100-150 young men intentionally headed to the White House. This was provocation, he said.
"Around 5,000 citizen patrol volunteers are helping police. Young people come themselves. This is a very good sign. There were no disorders. There were no grave crimes. The crime rate dropped for 24 hours," Asanov said.
Tension remains yet, he said. "There are groups of people interested in this. Split of society, for instance. There are also people who want to loot in Bishkek," he added.
