Kazakhstan urges to ensure safety for its nationals and companies in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan expressed serious concerns over attacks and attempts of takeover of several enterprises belonging to Kazakh investors in Kyrgyzstan in the statement issued on October 8. "The facts of threats of physical violence against workers, nationals of Kazakhstan, and damage of property of these enterprises are particularly disturbing," the statement said.
Kazakh companies invested more than $1 billion into the national economy of Kyrgyzstan, having made a significant contribution into socio-economic development of the neighboring country, the Foreign Ministry said.
"We urge the Kyrgyz side to immediately take actions to ensure safety for citizens of Kazakhstan and Kazakh companies on the territory of Kyrgyzstan," the Foreign Ministry said.
