AKIPRESS.COM - The Central Election Commission has not scheduled new elections yet.
The Commission issued the resolution invalidating the 4 October parliamentary election results on October 6.
According to the constitutional law on presidential and parliamentary elections, in case elections are declared failed or invalid, candidate, political parties are not elected, repeat elections are scheduled by the Central Election Commission within one month.
The Central Election Commission said it will make the decision on scheduling repeat elections before November 6, 2020.
"Prior to scheduling repeat elections, the Central Election Commission finds it important to create lawful conditions for broadening of representation of political forces in parliament representing interests of citizens. The Commission also finds it important to make such changes in the legislation with the purpose of reduction of risks of post-election crises as reduction of election threshold in parliamentary elections and the size of electoral deposit," the Commission said.
The current election threshold for political parties to win seats in Parliament is 7%. The current size of electoral deposit is 5 million soms.
