AKIPRESS.COM - Central Election Commission member Atyr Abdrakhmatova resigned, she said on Facebook.
In her letter of resigation, Atyr Abdrakhmatova said the 4 October parliamentary elections had numerous violations by the Central Election Commission since scheduling elections and until their end.
Those violations included abuse of the form #2 by certain parties, opening of additional polling stations. Equal rights to parties were not ensured when candidates were registered and during campaigning. The government resources were misused, no actions were taken in response to vote buying. All these and other violations led to the events that started on October 5. Responsibility for what has happened in the country fully rests on members of the Central Election Commission, Atyr Abdrakhmatova emphasized.
"We all know that one of the demands of people in last days was lustration of all officials, public servants and officials involved into organization and conduct of the past elections and their renewal. This primarily concerns the Central Election Commission," Atyr Abdrakhmatova said.
"Realizing my civil and moral responsibility before people I resign as Central Election Commission member," she said in her letter of resignation.
