AKIPRESS.COM - 17 people injured during the unrest in Bishkek continue receiving treatment at the Bishkek Research Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics continues, the center said. A 24-year-old man who was critically injured is still in a coma, the statement said.
He has serious brain and head injuries.
577 people in total turned to the center with different injuries after the riots in Bishkek.
On October 5, peaceful protests against the results of October 4 parliamentary elections turned violent when the White House was stormed and clashes with police occurred injuring at least 1200 people and killing 1 civilian, and leading to resignation of the President, Prime Minister and Parliament Speaker. Parliamentary election results were annulled.
Previously jailed politician Sadyr Japarov was appointed as Prime Minister and became an acting President of Kyrgyzstan after Speaker's refusal to take over the functions.
