Half of Bishkek population contracted and recovered from COVID-19

AKIPRESS.COM - According to statistics of the Research Institute, some 50-55% of population of Bishkek were exposed to and recovered from coronavirus infection, Head of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Department Kuban Kundashev said.
"Why do we see spike of daily cases in the south of the country? They had 28-30% of population who contracted and recovered from COVID-19 before. Besides, many people arrive from the regions to Bishkek and receive medical treatment here," he said.
The last week saw growth of PCR confirmed coronavirus cases. Many cases are asymptomatic. They remain at home mainly, he said.
