AKIPRESS.COM - The Supreme Court upheld the acquittal of the Bishkek city court of the acting President, Prime Minister Sadyr Japarov, chief of the GKNB Kamchybek Tashiyev, and MP Talant Mamytov. Ruling of the Supreme Court dated August 6, 2013 was canceled, and the criminal probe was sent for consideration in cassation court, the statement said.
On 3 October 2012, about 400 people took to central streets in Bishkek advocating for nationalition of the Kumtor gold company. Then-MP Tashiyev called the protesters to storm the White House, however they were dispersed and detained by law enforcement agencies.
On March 29, 2013 Pervomay district court of Bishkek found 3 MPs guilty of violent attempt of power grab and sentenced them to 1.6 years in prison.
On 17 June 2013, the Bishkek city court acquitted the MPs and released them from the courtroom.
