Quarantine restrictions reintroduced in Aravan district of Osh region

AKIPRESS.COM - Aravan district of Osh region leads in number of daily COVID-19 cases, Osh region administration reported. 93 new cases were confirmed by the morning of October 20, the total number of confirmed cases made 5,758.
Uzgen district is on the second place.
Quarantine restrictions were reintroduced in these two districts for 2 weeks since October 19. Mass events and Friday prayers in mosques are prohibited, livestock and consumer goods markets were closed.
"Quarantine was reintroduced since many new cases are registered daily. The number of cases began decreasing for the last 2 days. Food markets, pharmacies and bath houses stay open only. The majority of population are farmers, they harvest crops without any restrictions," Akim district governor Kurbanbek Aitibayev said.
Two patients are in critical condition, local hospital chief Usmanjan Mamajanov said.
"29 patients with coronavirus and 73 with pneumonia are treated in hospital. Two of them are in critical condition. The hospital has enough supply of medicines, personal protective gear. Each rural municipality has a daytime in-patient facility. Around 80 people obtain medical assistance a day. The resurgence in new cases is explained with failure to observe sanitary norms," the hospital chief said.
The population of Aravan district surpasses 130,000 people.
